Fennel seeds chewed or included in a hot tea are good for over accumulated kapha

Kapha season begins when there is the feel of new growth and spring. From February to May, body may tend to be heavy, slow, cool, and moist. Difficulty getting out of bed, lethargy and unable to get going are signs that Kapha maybe accumulating in the body.

To balance the body's response to this season, Ayurveda suggests foods and practices that are the opposite of Kaphas qualities. Generally foods that are light, dry, and warm, can be beneficial. Whereas heavy cold and oily foods can increase Kapha qualities.

However unique dietary advice is worth much more. To eat according to your body type, season and any health conditions provides the correct way to reach balance in Ayurveda.

At our Plymouth clinic we can advise on specific food groups such as:

Grains

Protein

Legumes

Dairy

Oils

If you do notice heaviness in the body this season and need a quick fix, incorporate all spices, especially those that are warming or pungent.

Additionally, regular physical activity to get things moving is important.

For specific individual advice get in touch for a personal Ayurveda Consultation.
