YOGA WORKSHOP FUNDAMENTAL SEATED POSTURES

Updated: Oct 20, 2020

Yoga Chikitsa is the sanksrit word for yoga therapy.  Many seated poses in a modern flow or vinyasa class are derived from this form of therapeutic yoga.  By understanding fundamental seated postures allows you to develop strong foundations through correct alignment.  At the same time you will strengthen the muscular system and increase joint stability.  By correctly practising some of the sequences you will allow purify the organs which in turn become more effective at the same time reducing the risk of injury.

You will see how the mind becomes extremely calm when the body is positioned correctly.  Using ujjayi breath, bandhas and drishtis you can experience the benefits immediately.

Come and try out modifications (great for practising if injured) and work on deepening your own practice with Jason Searing.  Jason has picked up many of his techniques from learning with Manju Jois (son of yoga founder Sri K. Pattabhi Jois) and yoga legend John Scott.
