So much so often a yoga practice is about, there’s pushing to achieve something. This fits very much with a western mind set and our education culture.

Yin yoga is about slowing down and feeling our experiences. In Yin yoga classes most of the postures are seated.  This is different to many yoga classes but also the postures are maintained from between 1 and 5 minutes. This encourages fascia release and an opening of the connective tissues. Yin yoga can also allow us to feel more balanced and calm. Through a type of yoga which uses accupressure points to stimulate the organs and includes ‘balance’ as a means to good health and wellbeing.
