Inversion Yoga Workshop Sunday 11th May 2025 11.00-13.00

info5049080

Venue: Yoga Blend, Mutley Plain, Plymouth, PL4 6LE

Cost: £25.00

Most of the time we spend sitting, standing or lying down, even in yoga classes.  Inversions counter the day to day movement and mindset and let us see the world from a different perspective, upside down. Use various techniques to create the foundation needed for turning upside down. Learn how to stack the body in a way that allows you to resist gravity.  You will practice a variety of inversions that are accessible for everyone, with challenging options.

Postures covered are: Pincha Mayurasana, Bakasana, Eka Pada Bakasana, Gandha Berundhasana (chin stand), Devaduuta Panna asana (fallen angel), Baddha Hasta Sirsasana A, B, C and Mukta Hasta Sirsasana A, B, C (headstands). Urdva Vrksasana (handstand). With variations and transitions in these postures.

This workshop will help you to understand the building blocks of creating these postures, daily drills, stacking positions, muscle (bandha) isolation to build your confidence.  This way you can bring them into your own yoga asana routine and defy gravity.
